Rawsons Pool
A view of the upper end of the length looking east. The length is quite narrow from the lock, widening prior to the 'pool' which is an old winding pool before narrowing again and becoming the top end of the 'Old Match Length'. Platforms are provided for most of this section but be aware that a short length is marked off for overhead power cables – be aware! The overhanging trees opposite the towpath can be a problem but hold a lot of smaller fish, mainly roach and perch with some big ones and bream putting in an appearance occasionally. The track is not very deep, appx' 1m, occasionally 1.5m with some shelving under the trees. Pinkie, squat, and punch often do well. Many members have found this length produces in the winter months.
