Lockwoods Upper

A view of the upper end of the section looking east. The towpath is on the left. There is reasonable access to the length via a ramp at the bottom of the car park between the bedding centre and Lockwood's carpets. Some pegs are suitable for the disabled with care though pegs in the middle and lower end of the section are better.

Mixed catches can be made though perch and roach are a mainstay with occasional bream to a reasonable size can be had. Jack's can be a nuisance sometimes making their presence know in this section. 'Match bait to target species'. The canal width is quite varied, 11-16m, mid section being the narrowest. The main shelf is opposite to the towpath, and can be as little as 0.5m deep with the near side more of a slope. The track also varies averaging 1.5m.
