Lockwoods Lower

The lower end of the Lockwoods length looking west. The length is reasonable for the disabled but it can get muddy, (see Lockwoods-upper). The width of the canal mid picture is about 20m wide with a very wide shelf where barges sometimes moor. This part narrows at both ends with reed beds. Un-shipping can be a problem for pole users with the narrow towpath but the waggler can be just as good.

Up to 1.5m deep in places, the track can produce some good fish. Punch, chopped worm, and or caster are very effective in the summer months. This part of the length is one of the areas where the fish seem to hold up in winter but the marina area next to the Barge & Barrel is better.
