Railway Wall - Industrial Upper - Industrial Lower - Sewerage Length - John Cottons - Ganney Lock - Elland and Lowfields

John CottonsThis is the lowest section of the B.A.A. River Calder waters viewed looking east with fishing from the towpath, left bank down stream within limits. Access is via the Leeds-Huddersfield road and the canal cut (NO FISHING IN THE CUT). The stretch is very wide and comparatively deep (4-5m) down the near side in a steady flow ( most of the time). The stick, waggler or feeder should bring results with good roach, chub and bream to be had if you can find them. Barbel, ide and trout put in an appearance sometimes. Caster, hemp and maggot best with groundbait feeder for bream. Shared with Bradford No1 A.A.
