A Brief History !

The Brighouse Angling Association was founded in 1928 as a coarse angling club with the objectives of; promoting the sport of angling, the breeding of fish and providing facilities for members of the association to participate in the sport of angling. The club is run on behalf of the members by a committee of ten members elected bi-annually and officials that are elected annually. We are able to offer a lake, canal and river angling to our members. Day tickets and match bookings are available for our canal water and Brook foot Lake.

The Site

This site has been setup to give it's visitors an insight into what the Brighouse Angling Association offers, how it is run, and how to join. We have provided images of our waters, also photos of members catches so you can see the quality of fish lurking in our lakes/Canals/Rivers. On this site you will also find directions to each of the waters and detailed descriptions of best ways to fish the waters. We will endeavour to keep the site as up to date as possible with Local Angling News and Match Results.

It is with sadness and deepest regret that on the 20^th of December 2007 Ray Charnock, treasure and stalwart of  Brighouse Angling association passed away after short illness. Our sympathies and condolences go to his family Val, Simon, Amanda, James, Simon and Hannah, he will be sadly missed by everyone, RIP.
