Comments: reading on the  forum and although the points made are of sound though,i feel the point has been missed.the club has a larger contingency of pleasure anglers that dont have the health to bivvie out for days on end and haven't the skill required to catch the carp either.in fact, they are of the same mind as the carpers they want to catch the silver fish only.. make no mistake the modernisation of the lake is ineligible as everyone wants to catch fish when they go on a session long or short. there are lots of ways of sorting the " gin clear" PROBLEM . and as i understand things most of the work does not effect the larger side of the lake and as the old saying goes you cant make an omelette without breaking eggs........ Replies: Thank you for this, please contact the gen sec with some proposals  ON PAPER  with address and name and membership receipt no and he is OBLIGED to put them before committee.  We are always open to new input and welcome contributions from those with experience and knowledge of fisheries management.

Subject: Working parties
Comments: I am a returning member to Brighouse AA and I work for the Environment Agency, keeping rivers free of flood risks. My team are working their way down the Calder from Todmorden to Dewsbury, cutting out fallen trees and removing the big items of rubbish from the river. I was wondering whether any members of the club would like to join us when we go through the club's stretches. This might be a chance to open up a few swims and tidy up the rubbish that spoils most of our waters. I can't give an exact date at the minute for when we will get down as far as Elland, but it will probably be at the end of January. If the club is interested in getting a working party together, can you get in touch with me so I can pass this on to my boss and hopefully get something organised. We're not able to clear rubbish from the banksides, as this is not a flood risk, so we need to get together with people who care about the river to make the whole place better for us and the wildlife. Thanks
