Comments: just a little note to say........ ROLE ON THE SUMMER!! Replies: BUT  the fish are still there and its upto us to catch them!
they do feed at this time of year albeit sporadically and thats when watercraft and experience counts - our bailifs know the waters as well as anyone and one of them is usually o  and to give out info and advice
we KNOW that the canal has produced roach and pike and there is a whisper of some chub too.  the river is still throwing up specimen fish...so lots tohave a go for...enjoy our mild days and goet out there

Subject: rileys pond
Comments: could someone explain why the club are stocking the pond with
silver fish yet pleasure anglers cant use keepnets yet matchmen can Why cant
pleasure anglers use there keepnets for silvers and not carp as they can in
the main lake. Replies: hello steve, thanks for this one !
hope this helps
As a committee we try to respond to the membership requests and the needs of our fish welfare.  Sometimes these conflict and we are left having to make a decision (thats why we are elected in every year at the AGM) so for now thats the way it is.  We DO NOT want to see Carp in keepnets at any time on our waters but do recognise the needs of those members who enjoy match fishing and at least committee members are present when these fish are weighed and released.  Notice that   the EA report (jan 08) on Rileys pond recorded favourable growth in the silver fish population and that all year classes (1-8) were present and capable of reproduction on maturity ALSO that these fish have responded well to anglers baits throughout the year.  The recent stocking  (@50 8-10" fish) is part of our efforts to improve the fisheries in line with guidance from the EA.
Whilst on the pond we can report tha the work carried out to repair banking has been finished  (a bit of tidying up to do) and that there will be working parties shortly on site (mid week) to install more fish refuge islands

Subject: Web-site
Comments: Why is the website not updated with more coments or up to date
news/ where's catching. Replies: The parts of the site that you see have been put on 'the back burner' for the last few weeks to make time for rebuilding following the comments recieved when the survey was posted just before christmas. The comments page however is kept as up to date as possible and the forum is always online for member to member news etc.
